Retained Players

Abdul Samad has yet to prove himself worthy of a berth on that team. He had a batting average of 12.33 and 111 home runs in the past season. According to the BCCI’s retaining guidelines, each player receives Rs 15 crore in pay if a team keeps three players.

Only four players from Williamson’s team would be permitted to stay. This means his bank balance will be depleted by Rs 33 crore. For the IPL 2022 super auction, this will result in a huge reorganization of players. Williamson will remain in command of the Orange Army.

  1. Kane Williamson (Rs 14 crore)
  2. Abdul Samad (Rs 4 crore)
  3. Umran Malik ( Rs 4 crore)

Trevor Bayliss and Brad Haddin, the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s head coach and assistant coach, respectively, resigned. VVS Laxman resigned as a consultant to join the National Cricket Academy as Director of Cricket. Simon Katich resigned from the squad following the IPL 2022 season, claiming “bubble fatigue” as the reason for his departure. His deputy coach would be Simon Katich, and his coaches would be Dale Steyn, Brian Lara, and Hemang Badani.

In 2016, Sunrisers Hyderabad became the first team from India to win the IPL, defeating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final. Since 2013, the squad has competed in the playoffs every season. The highest run-scorer is David Warner, and the leading wicket-taker is Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

The squad is regarded as among the best in the world at bowling. With three Orange Caps, David Warner has been the league’s leading run-scorer. The Purple Cap has twice been awarded to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is a franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The teams made it to the final match in 2018 but were defeated by Chennai Super Kings. Brand Finance estimates that the IPL’s entire brand equity has dropped to the US $4.4 billion.
