Abdul Samad has yet to prove himself worthy of a berth on that team. He had a batting average of 12.33 and 111 home runs in the past season. According to the BCCI’s retaining guidelines, each player receives Rs 15 crore in pay if a team keeps three players.
Only four players from Williamson’s team would be permitted to stay. This means his bank balance will be depleted by Rs 33 crore. For the IPL 2022 super auction, this will result in a huge reorganization of players. Williamson will remain in command of the Orange Army.

VVS Laxman resigned as a consultant to join the National Cricket Academy as Director of Cricket. Simon Katich resigned from the squad following the IPL 2022 season, claiming “bubble fatigue” as the reason for his departure. His deputy coach would be Simon Katich, and his coaches would be Dale Steyn, Brian Lara, and Hemang Badani.
