Corey Anderson Breaks The Record Of Fastest Century In ODI

On the very first day of the year 2014 witnessed a record breaking performance in International cricket history. Corey Anderson, the left handed batsman of New Zealand in the 3rd ODI against West Indies broke the record of fastest century in One Day International cricket matches by making a century in just 36 balls.

He stood unbeaten in this match by making 131 runs in 47 balls, which includes 14 sixers, and 6 boundaries. None of the West Indies bowlers could restrict him from hitting sixes and boundaries. Sunil Narine gave highest runs to him with 34 in 11 balls, and Jason Holder gave minimum number of runs with 16 in 6 balls.

When we come to the match, New Zealand with 283 runs (21 overs) by losing 4 wickets defeated West Indies, which could only make 124 runs by losing 5 wickets. Due to bad weather, the match was reduced to 21 overs.

Apart from Anderson, Jesse Ryder has also shown a wonderful performance by making 104 runs with 5 sixes and 12 boundaries. With this victory, New Zealand has leveled the series with 1-1 victory in 5 ODI matches series.
