Kings XI Punjab tasted their first win by beating Pune Warriors India today. Dimitri Mascarenhas with his 5 wickets, and Shaun Marsh 64 runs in 54 balls with 7 boundaries and a six laid a easy path Kings XI Punjab victory. KXIP lost their first wicket of Paul Valthaty on the very first ball of the innings. After Shaun Marsh and skipper Adam Gilchrist took the score up to 50 in 8Overs. At this stage Angelo Mathews took the wicket of the Gilchrist. But, Shaun Marsh continued his flow of runs, and crossed the chase mark of 116 easily.

Earlier during Pune Warriors India’s innings, Dimitri Mascarenhas showed an outstanding performance by taking 5 wickets. He took the wickets of the Pune Warriors India’s skipper Sourav Ganguly, Marlon Samuels, Robin Uthappa, Mithun Manhas, and Rahul Sharma. None of the batsmen were able to stand for long. Mithun Manhas was the highest scorer among the PWI batsmen. But, he was clean bowled by Dimitri Mascarenhas. They gradually all the wickets, and were only able to score 115 in 19 overs.
